For all those inteding on using a different Transmission beind the VQ30det here's some info you may want to consider. As there are hourses for courses, you'll probably custom it for yourself. Me i'm realising more and more that i'll either need moster truck tires or slicks just to get grip using either a 350Z or Navara box before a R33 diff.

Y33 - VQ30det Auto Only
215, 55 R16 = 642.9RD
205, 65 R16 = 672.9RD

Has used two gearboxes
90-93 RE4R03A - model 51x65
1: 2.784 = 10.91328 END REDUCTION
2: 1.544
3: 1.000
4: 0.694 = 2.72048 END REDUCTION
R: Unknown
FD: 3.92

94-96 RE4R03A - model 51x79
1: 2.569 = 10.0191 END REDUCTION
2: 1.479
3: 1.000
4: 0.694 = 2.72048 END REDUCTION
R: Unknown
FD: 3.9

350Z VQ35 Straight Bolt up
245, 45 R18 = 677.7RD
Close Ratio box 3.000 from 1st to 6th

1: 3.794 = 13.423 END REDUCTION
2: 2.324
3: 1.624
4: 1.271
5: 1.000
6: 0.794 = 2.809 END REDUCTION
R: 3.446
FD: 3.538

Navara D40 VQ Straight Bolt up
255, 70 R16 = 763.4RD
Tall Ratio box 3.599 from 1st to 6th

1: 4.368 = 15.453 END REDUCTION
2: 2.518
3: 1.743
4: 1.283
5: 1.000
6: 0.769 = 2.721 END REDUCTION
R: 3.966
FD: 3.538 for a 4x2 or 3.692 for a 4x4

S15 SR20det Probably would not handle torque but interesting nun-the less
205, 55 R16 = 631.9RD
Close Ratio box 2.859 from 1st to 6th

1: 3.626 = 13.387 END REDUCTION
2: 2.200
3: 1.541
4: 1.213
5: 1.000
6: 0.767 = 2.832 END REDUCTION

300Z VG30dett Needs Adaptor plate
255, 40 R17 = 635.8RD
Close Ratio box 2.462 from 1st to 5th

1: 3.214 = 13.123 END REDUCTION
2: 1.925
3: 1.302
4: 1.000
5: 0.752 = 3.070 END REDUCTION
R: 3.369
FD: 4.083

R33 R34 Skyline RB25det - Needs adapter plate. Same ratios as 300Z box but lighter and can only handle less torque
245, 50 R16 = 651.4RD
Close Ratio box 2.462 from 1st to 5th - Different Diff's give different end reductions and found many RB guys utilise the auto diffs for better launch, which is why I included it.

1: 3.214 = 13.213M 14.0227A END REDUCTION
2: 1.925
3: 1.302
4: 1.000
5: 0.752 = 3.091M 3.281A END REDUCTION
R: 3.369
FD: 4.111 Manual or 4.363 Auto

I figured that if i need the info, others will too.

Should save a few hours of net brousing to get all those figures/numbers. :p

The hard part now is calculating the end result to find a ratio that will work well.

Can you or anyone confirm that the D40 (VQ40DE) transmission is a direct bolt up?

I have a feeling the VQ40de is of the HR variety and there for not able to be bolted up.

there is another auto behind the vq30det, it is still the RE4R03A (i think?) but its code is 52x01 - dont ask me what the ratios are or the year of the car, was on an imported motor (i have seen 2 with this code.)
